Digital painting using values – colourising black and white values in Procreate / Photoshop / Photo

This can be a useful trick! Instead of painting in colour from the start, instead focus on getting the colour values right without worrying about juggling both at the same time.

All the tips are relevant to digital painting in any software like Procreate, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Affinity Photo etc, but we’ve used our own Wicked Watercolour pack which is available from our partners, Design Cuts.
